Miranda is a full-time Artist in Brighton, creating unique pieces of Kiln formed glass combining functional form and fine art concepts. Each piece is exclusively designed and made by the Artist. Miranda has created both large scale installations and a range of smaller articles, including decorative pieces for the home and fun jewellery. Kiln formed glass covers the techniques of fusing, slumping and casting glass into various forms - colours, wires and inclusions are then incorporated to create sculpted forms or functional articles. Miranda also has a range of exquisite hallmarked silver jewellery crafting pendants, bracelets, rings and other bespoke pieces. ‘it comes from the ground’ is a range of timeless, affordable and versatile pieces inspired by nature, the elements and facets of alchemy. The work is akin to buried treasure, some with primitive texture as if creating history, though the shapes are flowing, sculptural and symbolic of life cycles. As a result the pieces have a unique, innovative quality that bridges the gap between an artistic concept and wearing craft, melding with your skin thus becoming part of you. The artist offers a friendly and professional service and all work is hallmarked. Many pieces are applicable to both sexes and would be equally at home as both wedding, commitment or everyday jewellery. They are also available in gold. Individual commissions are welcomed by the artist and she is happy to arrange visits to her studio by appointment. For more information please feel free to contact her via info@mirandaswift.com or on 07956546994. |

"All the jewellery, bowl forms, platters, mirrors and coasters on this web site are individual, hand-made kiln formed glass art works which I have designed and made by myself. They are not mass produced, machine made items, so each one will be slightly different. Many of the bowls and other articles shown are designed to be used. Glass is a strong material as long as it is handled with reasonable care. Commissions to create individual designs are welcome."
